Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College seeks an Executive Director of Human Resources (EDHR) to serve as the campus's lead HR officer and strategic partner to the Chancellor and leadership team. The role leads all HR functions, advises on talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational change.

The EDHR develops and implements HR strategies aligned with college policies and statewide priorities, ensuring compliant, customer-focused services campus-wide.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR advisor to the Chancellor and campus leadership on employee relations, staffing, performance management and policy interpretation.
• Lead the development and execution of campus HR strategies that align with College priorities and statewide initiatives.
• Lead campus HR projects and process improvements that enhance service delivery.
• Support strategic campus initiatives and special projects as assigned by the Chancellor.
• Provide leadership and oversight of all campus HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, classification, benefits, leave administration, performance management, organizational development, compliance, and HR operations.
• Ensure consistent implementation and interpretation of College policies and employment laws at the campus level.
• Partner with Systems Office HR and College Counsel on employment-related matters, investigations, litigation, and legal compliance.
• Partner with campus Finance to oversee compensation practices and promote equitable, consistent, and competitive pay.
• Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting employee engagement, accountability, inclusion, leadership development, and effective conflict resolution.
• Use HR data and reports to identify trends and support campus decision-making.
• Provide executive leadership for operational functions supporting campus effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and strategic priorities including HRIS/Workday processes.
• Lead planning efforts identifying opportunities, evaluating alternatives, building stakeholder consensus, and implementing approved initiatives to improve performance and service delivery.
• Develop and manage HR's departmental budget and establish priorities, goals, and performance measures.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the campus HR team and build partnerships with campus leaders and statewide HR.
