Job summary

University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Superintendent to lead the Grounds Department. You will oversee the installation, operation, enhancement, and maintenance of campus greenspace, hardscape, and related outdoor facilities, including irrigation and water conservation initiatives.

The role requires 5 years in landscape work, 3 years supervisory experience, and a valid Texas Driver's License.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 5 years in landscape industry experience.
• 3 years supervisory experience.
• 3 years experience with North Texas plants, shrubs, trees, and soils.

Responsibilities

• Review designs for landscape and irrigation projects with internal and external teams.
• Monitor department budget and expenditures; assist with equipment, plantings, tree care, greenhouse ops.
• Enforce water conservation in daily use and strategic planning.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and department documentation.
• Oversee staffing; ensure training and development are included in documentation.
• Prioritize safety in daily operations and include it in docs.
• Contribute to campus-wide landscaping and beautification planning.
• Maintain a valid Texas Driver's License as required.
