Job summary

Dallas College seeks a Landscape Technician III to oversee campus grounds, lead landscaping crews, and manage irrigation systems. The role requires advanced landscaping knowledge, irrigation expertise, and CMMS proficiency to track maintenance and schedules.

You will train and mentor staff, coordinate projects, and ensure safety compliance while maintaining outdoor assets across multiple Dallas locations. A valid Texas driver’s license is required, with bilingual abilities preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Licensed Pesticide Applicator and Licensed Irrigation Technician or able to obtain within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive landscaping experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid Texas driver's license; bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee upkeep of college grounds: mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizing, planting and mulching.
• Diagnose plant health, soil and pest issues; implement remediation plans.
• Plan, assign and review tasks for landscaping staff; ensure safety and quality.
• Provide training and mentorship to crew; manage performance and schedules.
• Install, inspect and repair irrigation systems; monitor water efficiency.
• Document tasks, inventory and maintenance in CMMS; ensure accurate records.
• Lead landscape projects and renovations per campus standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for special events and campus needs.
• Enforce safety policies; conduct briefing and risk assessment sessions.
• Maintain tools, supplies and procurement to prevent shortages.
• Participate in annual training and professional development hours.
