Job summary

Valencia College is seeking a Full-Time Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to lead the East Campus Grounds team in Orlando, FL. This role oversees landscape and hardscape maintenance, IPM programs, irrigation, and fleet operations, balancing in-house staff with contracted services to keep the campus welcoming and safe.

Reporting to the Director of Grounds, you will plan, budget, schedule, and supervise a diverse team of groundskeepers, mechanics, and technicians, while fostering professional

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and Florida Chemical Applicator's License (or ability to obtain).
• Preferred AA degree in horticulture or related field; 7+ years in grounds maintenance with supervisory experience.
• Ability to manage schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Grounds Department, directing staff and scheduling work.
• Supervise landscape, irrigation, and IPM programs to meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Manage fleet maintenance by supervising on-site mechanics and inventory.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality work.
• Prepare timesheets, budgets, and purchase card processes; monitor department expenses.
• Develop long-range plans for campus grounds and support emergency weather prep.

Education
