Job summary

Florida State University Panama City is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus landscapes, equipment, and irrigation systems. The role requires hands-on maintenance of outdoor spaces, plus support for landscaping projects and safety compliance.

Under supervision, you will assist with design enhancements, perform routine maintenance, and help ensure campus aesthetics and operational goals are met. This is an OPS/temporary on-site position with training provided during the initial period.

Qualifications

• Completion of ninth grade is required.
• A valid Florida or Georgia driver’s license is required prior to hire.
• Preferred qualifications include OSHA safety certifications and pesticide licenses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds and landscapes, including mowing, trimming, planting, and upkeep of exterior areas.
• Assist with planning and implementing landscaping projects under supervision.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair irrigation systems and manage seasonal watering schedules.
• Coordinate with supervisor on safety, procedures, and campus beautification goals.
