Job summary

ServiceMaster Elite Janitorial Services seeks a campus grounds supervisor to lead daily operations, oversee exterior maintenance, and ensure an exceptional appearance of university grounds.

The role includes coordinating mowing, irrigation, seasonal plantings, snow removal, and vendor management, focusing on safety and compliance. You will work with Facilities Management to deliver best-in-class service and maintain equipment and PPE.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• At least one year landscape/grounds experience.
• Knowledge of horticulture, landscape & hardscape maintenance, snow/ice techniques, and athletic field upkeep.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• Commitment to safety practices.
• Current Pesticide Applicators License (6A, 6C & Core) required.
• Ability to work in low, high, and tight spaces.
• Ability to operate ladders and aerial lifts.
• Exposure to dirt, chemicals, and extreme weather.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work without supervision and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure campus appearance meets expectations.
• Oversee mowing, pruning, irrigation, seasonal plantings, and exterior beautification.
• Direct snow removal and de-icing operations.
• Coordinate event setups and oversee contractor performance.
• Maintain equipment, enforce PPE usage, and promote safety practices.
• Deliver safe, high-quality grounds maintenance in alignment with university standards.
