Job summary

Brandeis University in Waltham, MA is seeking a Manager, Grounds & Fleet to lead Brandeis Grounds and oversee the university's vehicle and equipment fleet. You will direct daily operations, develop maintenance programs, manage budgets, and supervise grounds and mechanic staff as well as external contractors.

This role requires 8–10 years in landscape maintenance with 3–5 years of supervision, a Bachelor's in forestry/horticulture or related field, and state licenses such as Commercial Pesticide

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Turf Management and/or Landscape Design.
• 8–10 years of landscape maintenance experience with 3–5 years of supervisory/management responsibility.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator and Hoist Engineer licenses; US driver's license; Arborist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise grounds and mechanic/garage staff and external contractors.
• Develop and implement maintenance programs for turf, landscape, irrigation and snow removal.
• Oversee fleet management, vehicle maintenance and capital project planning.
• Administer budgeting, payroll reviews, POs and inventory; ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate with Facilities supervisors to deliver high-quality service and customer support.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies in conjunction with Public Safety.
