Job summary

Westminster College is seeking a Director of Campus Grounds to maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of the campus. You will oversee landscape maintenance, tree care, seasonal projects, and outdoor facilities, while coordinating contracted services to meet safety and environmental standards.

Collaborating with the Plant Operations team, you’ll support campus operations year-round, including interior maintenance during winter weather and special events.

Qualifications

• Grounds maintenance and landscape duties as described in the job overview.
• Experience coordinating or managing contracted grounds or landscaping services.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, contractors, and visitors.
• Experience managing projects and vendors independently.
• Certifications in arboriculture or pesticide applications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appearance, safety, and health of campus grounds and landscapes.
• Coordinate seasonal landscaping and grounds improvement plans.
• Oversee irrigation systems and basic repairs; plant, prune, mulch, fertilize tasks.
• Coordinate contract mowing, snow removal, and other grounds services.
• Supervise equipment use and maintenance; manage budget for supplies and contracted services.
• Assist with interior maintenance during winter or low outdoor activity periods.
