Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a Fire Safety Inspector to inspect University facilities and ensure compliance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and life-safety standards. The role supports the Fire Safety Division and coordinates fire-safety programs and events for the UVA community.

Ideal candidates have strong organizational skills, can work independently or in diverse teams, and may pursue or possess a Fire Inspector Certification (Virginia 1031).

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year in fire safety, fire inspector or emergency response.
• Driver's license: Valid unrestricted license; ability to obtain VA license within 90 days.
