Qualifications

• Associate degree in fire science or related field is required.
• Ability to obtain NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector I certification within one year of hire.
• Class C driver's license required; driving record must be provided.

Responsibilities

• Inspect University Housing units for fire and life safety code or policy violations and take remedial actions.
• Communicate inspection findings and maintain documentation.
• Address safety hazards identified in University Housing properties.
• Conduct building inspections to address fire prevention and life safety code issues.
• Document and maintain records of inspection and corrective activities.
• Develop or revise standard operating procedures per policies.
• Provide training on fire prevention and extinguisher use.
