Job summary

Qualifications

  • Certifications required include NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector I/II and building code related training.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect buildings and regulated properties for compliance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and county amendments.
  • Witness contractor conducted performance tests.
  • Enter inspection results and maintain complete records of inspections and tests.
  • Identify code violations and issue notices, coordinating corrective actions.
  • Review building plans, coordinate with county agencies, and interpret applicable codes.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and respond to on-call duties outside normal hours.
