Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Fire Safety Inspector to inspect University facilities for compliance with the Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code and address life safety issues.

The role collaborates with the Director of Fire Safety & Prevention/Fire Marshal to develop and implement fire safety programs and coordinate events to ensure the safety of the University community.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least one year of fire safety experience or related roles.
• Valid driver''s license with ability to obtain Virginia license within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Special Events and Special Projects
• TENT Permit Process
• Support the mission of DSS and the Fire Safety Division
• Assist with Fire Safety Training
