Job summary

CT State Community College is seeking a Building Superintendent 2 for the Asnuntuck Campus in Enfield, CT. This full-time role oversees custodial care, small repairs, and daily building operations to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient campus environment.

The position requires strong supervisory skills, 5 years in building management, and the ability to respond to emergencies. Work hours are 7:30pm–4:00pm, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Qualifications

• Five years in building management or maintenance of buildings.
• Three years in supervisory capacity in maintenance or military experience (as applicable).
• Licenses, permits and/or certifications may be required per appointing authority.
• Experience coordinating staff and safety compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews the work of staff.
• Provides staff training and assistance; conducts performance evaluations.
• Determines priorities and plans building maintenance work; ensures standards are met.
• Prepares reports and cost estimates; conducts inspections for safety and quality.
• Responds to emergencies on a twenty-four-hour basis and coordinates with contractors.
