Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Building Superintendent - Facilities to lead day-to-day maintenance and repairs of campus building systems. You will direct installation, repair, and upgrades of HVAC and electrical equipment, and oversee zone projects to ensure quality and on-time completion.

You will supervise and develop a zone team, manage preventive maintenance, safety programs, and coordinate with external contractors, with work performed onsite across campus

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of building or mechanical trades experience.
• Five (5) years of facility operations management experience in a large physical plant, managing multiple skilled building trades in large buildings or multi-building university campuses with a central power plant.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the installation of new systems and equipment and upgrade older systems as they become inadequate or obsolete.
• Direct the installation, maintenance, and repair of building equipment, including motors, machinery, electrical equipment, and electrical control systems for HVAC and other building systems.
• Manage the zone preventive maintenance program and coordinate assigned employees' activities.
• Direct team members in scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and minor installations.
• Conduct periodic inspections of zone projects and work sites to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
• Oversee external contractors throughout projects in the assigned zone.
