The University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a Building Superintendent - Facilities to lead day-to-day maintenance and repair of campus building systems, reporting to the Assoc Vice Chancellor - Facilities. This role supervises zone teams, directs maintenance activities, and coordinates with contractors to ensure reliable, compliant operations.

You will manage budgets, oversee safety training, and drive continuous improvement in building performance across multiple facilities on the KUMC campus.

Competenze

• Four years of building or mechanical trades experience.
• Five years of facility operations management experience in a large physical plant.
• Three years of supervisory experience.

Mansioni

• Direct and coordinate the installation of new systems and equipment and upgrade older systems as they become inadequate or obsolete.
• Direct the installation, maintenance, and repair of building equipment, including motors, machinery, electrical equipment, and electrical control systems for HVAC and other building systems.
• Manage the zone preventive maintenance program and coordinate assigned employees' activities.
• Direct team members in scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and minor installations.
• Conduct periodic inspections of zone projects and work sites to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
• Serve as the departmental liaison for projects under this role’s supervision.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, and discrepancies in cost estimates and quality of work.
• Oversee external contractors throughout projects in the assigned zone.
