Job summary

Century College, part of Minnesota State, in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, seeks a semi-skilled trades worker to perform repairs across campus facilities and grounds. Duties include replacing parts, minor machinery adjustments, and door hardware maintenance.

Under supervision, you will assist with snow removal, event setup, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, reliable campus operations. Monday–Friday, Day shift, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general methods of trades to support licensed trades and repair campus facilities.
• Awareness of safety measures related to trades work.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate and maintain campus maintenance equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and provide guidance to helpers.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and bending.
• Minnesota State Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repair of campus buildings, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, doors and hardware repairs. Documents repair work and completes work orders.
• Assists with event setup/teardown, manages equipment and furniture, and supports major maintenance projects.
• Maintains safe work environment, communicates issues to supervisors, and participates in safety trainings and meetings.
