Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a custodian to perform routine cleaning and upkeep across school facilities. The role includes cleaning cafeterias, classrooms, and restrooms, setting up spaces for PTA and events, and maintaining safe, orderly environments after school hours.

Responsibilities

• Clean cafeteria after lunch, mop and reset tables and chairs
• Pick up paper and trash in bathrooms and hallways; clean up spills
• Clean classrooms, dust surfaces, move desks as needed
• Set up for PTA, events, and meetings in cafeteria, auditorium, library
• Vacuum floors, shampoo carpets, wash walls, and clean windows
• Secure and lock classrooms and doors at end of day
• Regular attendance is essential
