Job summary

The University of Richmond is seeking an Events Scheduler to coordinate on-campus events and reserve space using scheduling software. The role provides administrative, logistical, and operational support to the events staff, including catering, multimedia, and parking coordination.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in customer service or office settings, with experience in events and higher education environments preferred. This is a part-time, non-exempt, 9-month position located on campus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years' experience in direct customer service or an office setting required.
  • Experience in the events industry preferred.
  • Experience in higher education environment preferred.
  • General knowledge of event planning procedures and processes.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and event scheduling software; ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Processes reservation requests for the use of university space, resources, and equipment.
  • Analyzes logistical criteria to resolve conflicting space and resource requests; communicates with departments.
  • Educates clients about university policies and requirements.
  • Provides direction to clients for planning resources for events (catering, multimedia, parking).
  • Monitors exemptions in the reservation system and updates reservations with outside vendor information.
