Job summary

University of Virginia’s Student Affairs Event Management team is seeking a full-time Event Operations Associate to join on-site in Charlottesville, VA. You will supervise ~20 student staff, coordinate room setups, manage event records, and deliver exemplary service before, during, and after events.

You will work with Newcomb Hall staff and UVA AV/Building Facilities teams to align timelines, budgets, and resources for a diverse range of university and external events, ensuring welcoming,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education, experience, and/or certifications in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with staff to ensure Newcomb Hall is open and prepared for events.
• Communicate event details to stakeholders and solve problems independently and as part of a team.
• Review daily event schedules using 25Live application.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise and schedule student staff.
• Prepare reports on event setup accuracy, room use, and building statistics.
• Effectively manage student personnel budget.
