Job summary

Cecil College in Maryland seeks a proactive Supervisor of Events and Auxiliary Services to manage campus events and related operations. The role coordinates spaces, staffing, and services to deliver high-quality experiences for students, staff, guests, and partners.

The position requires 3 years supervisory and 3 years event planning experience, plus an associate degree or progress toward one. Evening/weekend availability and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; may be pursuing and commit to completing within 1 year.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience and 3 years of event planning.
  • One year of general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Professional oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse campus community.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise logistical requirements for college events, meetings, conferences, ceremonies, and external rentals.
  • Coordinate event setup and breakdown, including furniture, equipment, technology, signage, and other support services.
  • Develop and maintain event schedules, work orders, setup diagrams, and staffing plans.
  • Serve as primary contact for space reservations, event organizers, and campus departments.
  • Conduct pre-event planning meetings and site walkthroughs as needed.
  • Ensure event spaces are properly prepared, maintained, and restored after events.
  • Monitor events to address operational issues and ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Supervise auxiliary services and support operations including rentals, vending, catering, parking, and revenue-generating services.
  • Supervise assigned staff and oversee vendor/contractor management.
  • Develop policies, pricing structures, and service standards for auxiliary operations.
