Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin on UT Main Campus is seeking a Dining Supervisor within University Housing and Dining. You will lead front‑of‑house operations, uphold high safety and cleanliness standards, and guide service staff to deliver a superior dining experience.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager or General Manager, the role focuses on coaching staff, managing shifts, and coordinating with UHD HR on staff recruitment. This 40-hour weekly position includes substantial benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree preferred.
• Two years of food service experience in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• One year of supervisory experience in food service or similar capacity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day dining room operations to ensure timely, high-quality service.
• Serve as shift lead during service periods, monitor food flow and line setup.
• Conduct weekly inventory counts and monitor stock levels for service.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and UHD safety and sanitation policies.
• Coach staff, provide hands-on feedback, and support staff development.
• Support recruitment and onboarding in collaboration with UHD HR.
• Communicate guest feedback and implement service improvements.
