The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to oversee daily dining operations on the UT Main Campus. You will guide dining staff during meal service, ensure food safety, and deliver exceptional customer service.

This role includes training new staff, managing station setups, monitoring portion control and temperatures, and maintaining cleanliness. The position offers a $2.00/hour shift differential for evening and weekend shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working and preparing food in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• Experience training or leading staff in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional food facility.
• Experience with operating standard kitchen equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading dining staff by providing direction during meal service and ensuring assigned tasks are completed efficiently.
• Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of meals in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by greeting and assisting customers and operating the POS system.
• Monitor food presentation and quality, maintain temperature logs, and ensure food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, service areas, and dining spaces, restocking supplies and reporting issues.
