Job summary

The University of North Texas - UNT Dining Services, Union Burger, is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations, ensure exceptional service, and uphold food safety and cleanliness. This role provides hands-on leadership to the team, supports staff scheduling and inventory, and ensures a smooth, engaging dining experience for UNT students, faculty, staff, and guests.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED equivalent and two years of experience in institutional or commercial food preparation.
One year of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of experience, education, or training.
Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions; manage staff and inventories.
Knowledge of health and safety standards in large-scale food service operations.
Ability to train personnel in food service practices and equipment use.

Responsibilities

Supervise staff and maintain high levels of customer service.
Assist with scheduling, inventory control, and adherence to policies.
Ensure food quality, safety, and cleanliness across service periods.
Lead training and onboarding of new team members; foster a positive work environment.
