Job summary

State of Georgia’s North Georgia Technical College is hiring a Food Services Employee to prepare and serve meals in the college dining hall. Under supervision, you’ll assist with banquets and daily service while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

The position requires basic computer skills, strong customer service, and a ServSafe Certification. Flexibility for early morning and evening hours, with potential cashier duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Customer service and basic computer skills required.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• ServSafe Certification required or pursued during employment.
• Valid GA Driver License may be needed for some shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of food items for students, staff and visitors.
• Assist in banquets, civic group meetings and receptions as needed.
• Operate food service equipment and dishwashing area safely.
• Monitor temperatures of coolers, freezers, fryers and ovens.
• Maintain safe, clean, and sanitary work environment per food safety procedures.
• Stock shelves, freezers, and coolers as items are received.
• Clear tables and assist with trash disposal; clean workstations.
• May operate cash register and process payments; handle money and card transactions.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor promptly.
