Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a food service worker to perform routine dining hall tasks under the supervision of the 4‑H Dining Commons Manager. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting food, serving customers, and maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in the dining area.

Qualifications

• Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or education in lieu of the required minimum qualifications may be evaluated by Human Resources.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs and stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food of good and safe quality and appealing presentation (50%).
• Serve food at the dining hall; set up serving lines and trays; interact with customers from young children to adults (35%).
• General dining hall clean-up: washing dishes, pots, pans, equipment; sweeping, mopping, and removing trash; washing tables, chairs, and windows (15%).
