Job summary

Haverford College seeks a General Food Service Worker for its on-site Dining Center. This full-time role includes meal service, front-of-house operations, and basic food prep. The position requires working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, adherence to sanitation standards, and collaboration with the Operations Manager and Supervisors to ensure a positive dining experience for students and guests.

Qualifications

• Current Serv Safe certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient written and spoken communication with customers and staff.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, menus, and production sheets.
• Able to stand and work in extreme temperatures; manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to customers with high-quality service and proper portions.
• Update temperature logs and communicate needs to cooks.
• Maintain front-of-house areas, keep areas stocked and clean.
• Work as a cashier for operations; process cash or card transactions.
• Assist in basic food preparation and dishwashing duties.
• Follow sanitation standards and training, including Serve Safe.
• Assist in training student workers and perform other duties as assigned.
