Job summary

Hagerstown Community College is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker to support the Campus Food Services. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitary kitchen areas and handle cash at the Hilltop Grill.

The role requires at least a year in food service, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a positive, student-friendly attitude to foster a welcoming campus dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of food storage, preparation, and serving methods.
• ServSafe Certification desirable or ability to obtain it.
• Must be age 18 or older; minimum one year experience in food service or related setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares daily breakfast, lunch, and other items and serves them.
• Cleans the kitchen and serving areas to maintain sanitary standards.
• Washes dishes, pots, and pans after each meal period.
• Operates cash register and makes deposits at end of day; balances drawers.
• Assists in menu prep and serving for college events.
• Assists other staff in Hilltop Grill as directed.
• Ensures stock and supplies are locked and secured after business hours.
• Closes and prepares weekly worksheets and temperature checklists.
• Preps and stocks supplies for next business day.
• Assists with orders for vendors and organizes daily cleaning lists.
• Assists with setup and cleanup for catered campus events.
