Job summary

Harvey Mudd College is hiring a Retail – Junior Cook to prepare, cook and serve foods across dining and retail locations on campus. You will handle cashier duties, barista tasks, and support multiple food stations while maintaining safety standards.

Under supervision, you will follow recipes, HACCP guidelines and proper food handling. The role requires teamwork, flexibility for events, and on‑campus presence with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary training is desirable.
• At least one year of paid experience in high-volume food service.
• Ability to follow recipes, HACCP guidelines, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and portion food for multiple service areas.
• Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and dining spaces.
• Support barista duties and beverage service as needed.
• Assist with catering and special events production.
• Follow health, safety and covid-19 guidelines.
