Job summary

Forty-Niner Shops, Inc. is seeking a part-time Residential Dining Cook I to prepare and dispense food for students, faculty, staff and guests under supervision.

You will handle high-volume breakfast, lunch, and dinner, coordinate with grill and salad stations, follow menus, and ensure HACCP-compliant sanitation and safety.

This role offers flexible hours within the dining hall schedule and a pathway to develop practical cooking skills in a busy campus kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CA Food Handler Card within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Preps, cooks and dispenses food for students, faculty, staff and guests.
• Coordinates and prepares food items for salad bars, grill areas, sandwich bars and kiosks.
• Regularly handles animal and vegetable proteins through various stages of cooking.
• Coordinates daily activities and assists in line service and dish room.
• Prepare and follow menus and formulas; ensure quantities for groups of varying sizes.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment and areas.
