Job summary

Colorado State University is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals in a high-volume dining environment, ensuring top quality, safety, and customer service. The role supports daily food production, maintains sanitation, and helps ensure a smooth dining experience for students living on campus.

Department operations include five dining centers, stores, a bakeshop, and a warehouse, supporting over 12,000 meals daily and 1,000+ staff.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a customer service capacity in food service, retail, hospitality, or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in accordance with established quality, safety, and portioning standards.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment according to food codes and department sanitation practices.
• Operate and maintain food service equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor food temperatures, restock supplies, and ensure uninterrupted service flow.
• Complete opening and closing procedures and participate in inventory-related tasks.
• Indirectly supervise and guide student and hourly staff in food production and service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all assigned work areas.
• Other duties as needed.
