Job summary

Sodexo at Saint Mary’s College of California is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meals and events, following safety and quality standards in a fast-paced campus kitchen.

You’ll work with a collaborative team in a clean, organized workspace. We offer training, benefits including PTO, medical/dental/vision, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan to help you grow with us.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold foods for all meals and events following Sodexo standards.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving a variety of foods.
• Taste products, estimate requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production.
• Significant walking or mobility may be required.
• Attend shifts on time with regularity.
