Job summary

California State University, Long Beach seeks a Director of Design & Construction Services to lead the Design and Construction Services staff and manage major and minor capital projects from inception through completion.

You will develop campus standards, oversee procurement and consultant selection, and drive project delivery while ensuring compliance with building codes and CSU guidelines. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management OR related field; 10+ years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Master’s degree preferred in a related field.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience; leadership for a large design and construction team.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design and Construction Services staff, projects, and budget; act as campus leader.
• Develop and communicate strategic vision for the department.
• Oversee selection processes for Architects/Engineers and contractors; ensure policy compliance.
