Job summary

California State University Long Beach (CSULB) Beach Building Services – Design and Construction Services seeks a Preconstruction Manager to provide senior leadership over preconstruction activities for major capital projects.

The role supervises Project Managers, Interior Design Managers, and staff augmentation resources, coordinating with stakeholders and customers to ensure projects progress from intake through procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible full time work experience in a related field.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience managing projects over $5 Million.
• LEED AP certification preferred.
• CASp certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project Managers and staff; oversee workload, performance, and accountability.
• Ensure plans meet campus standards, manage budgets, schedules, and reporting.
• Coordinate hand-off to Construction Management and Facilities Management; liaise with campus departments.
