Union College in Schenectady, NY is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness across campus office and common spaces. The role is full-time, in-person, 40 hours per week, with a 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. shift.

The position is non-exempt, with no relocation or visa sponsorship offered. Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, event setup assistance, and supporting colleagues as needed, while adhering to safety procedures and fostering an inclusive campus community.

Qualifications

• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Read, write and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Weekend work may be required; emergencies may require coverage.
• Valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record for weekend duties.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive campus community.
• Follow safety procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain office and building spaces; remove trash; wash windows; clean bathrooms and public areas.
• Assist with setting up tables and chairs for events.
• Support colleagues as needed and participate in team tasks.
