Job summary

The University of Washington Seattle Campus is seeking a Manager of Program Operations for Custodial Services. This full-time leadership role directs daily operations, staffing, scheduling, building security, and response to staff concerns, reporting to the Associate Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of full-time supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
• Experience in budgeting and financial administration.
• Ability to work in a customer-service environment.
• Strong prioritization and deadline management.
• Experience inspecting buildings, creating staff assignments, and workload planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; report writing and meetings.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
• Experience supervising custodial staff and coordinating with labor agreements.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License and driving experience.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs., walk 4 hours per day, and bend/stoop/kneel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage custodial operations across facilities to ensure high-quality service.
• Develop and adjust workflows and schedules to meet demands.
• Monitor performance with inspections and data analysis; implement improvements.
• Coordinate with maintenance and facilities teams to address issues.
• Oversee staff hiring, onboarding, training, and evaluations.
• Manage staffing levels, timekeeping, leave, and workforce planning.
• Maintain building security practices and respond to incidents.
• Ensure compliance with UW policies, OSHA/WISHA standards, and safety procedures.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, inventory, and reporting on performance.
• Support payroll coordination and documentation.
