Job summary

Washington State University is hiring a Custodian 2 in Pullman, WA, within Student Affairs and University Recreation. The role covers cleaning of residence halls, dining areas, offices, and classrooms, plus minor maintenance tasks.

You will use PPE and power tools, move heavy items, and may supervise junior staff. The position is full-time, 100% FTE, with competitive benefits and an overtime-eligible schedule.

Qualifications

• The ability to perform required custodial work and read/write; six months experience in custodial, general/building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Must have, or obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices, and similar facilities.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as caulking, replacing toilet seats and lavatory handles, and small furniture repairs.
• Move heavy items and operate PPE and industrial cleaning equipment and power tools.
• Potentially supervise lower-level staff.
