Job summary

Lindenwood University seeks a Staff Counselor to provide clinical services, crisis management, and education/outreach related to mental health and substance use for students. The role builds rapport with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.

The position involves individual and group psychotherapy, confidentiality, collaboration with external providers, and supervision of interns. It supports Lindenwood’s Student Affairs and wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or mental health counseling.
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) designation in Missouri.
• Two years’ experience providing evidenced-based psychotherapy (individual and group).

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical evaluations to determine student needs and establish treatment plans.
• Provides individual and group psychotherapy to a diverse student body.
• Provides crisis intervention and crisis assessment.
• Maintains psychotherapy records and confidentiality.
• Collaborates with community mental health providers and offers outreach programs.
• Develops marketing materials and oversees social media for the center.
