Job summary

Lamar Community College is seeking a part-time Mental Health Counselor to provide student-centered mental health services with a manageable caseload of roughly 14 students or fewer. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling-related field from a nationally accredited institution.
• Licensed in the State of Colorado as LPC, LPCC, LCSW, or Licensed Clinical/Counseling Psychologist.
• Proven training in culturally responsive and identity-informed counseling with diverse populations.
• Experience providing short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and clinical consultation.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, outreach, and preventive mental health programming.
• Balance direct counseling with campus engagement and education to support student success.
• Develop programs and outreach activities related to health and well-being.
• Provide outreach and professional development for faculty and staff on student mental health.
• Maintain timely records and comply with confidentiality and FERPA.
• Collaborate with campus offices to support student resilience and success.
