Job summary

Sodexo at SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY is seeking a Cook I to prepare and present a variety of hot and cold items for meals and events. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, following Sodexo’s culinary standards to ensure quality, safety, and consistency across service periods.

Responsibilities include following recipes, estimating production needs, and maintaining clean, organized workstations while upholding food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of related work experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards and recipes to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and directions for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other items.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Taste products, read menus, and ensure safe, sanitary handling and presentation.
