Job summary

Sodexo at Simpson College is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meals and events, following Sodexo’s culinary standards. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring food safety, quality, and consistent presentation while keeping a clean workstation and supporting team success.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 0–2 years’ related experience, and the ability to read recipes and follow directions.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of food preparation.
• Ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised.
• Good working knowledge of food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold foods for all meals and events.
• Follow recipes and product directions for quality and portion control.
• Estimate production requirements and requisition supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Support kitchen teamwork and uphold food safety standards.
