Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at OTERO COLLEGE to prepare and present a variety of hot and cold items across meals and events. You will ensure quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment on-site.

The role requires 0–2 years experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read recipes, follow instructions, and work with kitchen equipment. Benefits and growth opportunities are available as part of Sodexo’s team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold food items for all meal periods and events.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or mobility is required.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods, possibly over 8 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently move 35 pounds.
• Attend work and be on time for shifts.
• Other duties as assigned per account.
