Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno is hiring a Cook for Sodexo. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods across meal periods and events, following Sodexo’s culinary standards. The role requires maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen and keeping a clean workstation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Must read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for multiple food items.
• Estimate food requirements and plan production accordingly.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Support efficient kitchen teamwork and food safety.
