Job summary

NC State University’s NC State Dining is seeking an Event Coordinator to organize a variety of catered events on campus and ensure setup and execution run smoothly. You will coordinate staff, equipment and logistics, enter data into the EventMaster system, and ensure timely ordering of items.

Provide professional customer service and suggest creative setup ideas to enhance event experiences across campus. You will supervise events from small breaks to large plated meals, and work nights/weekends

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Preferred: catering sales experience in a restaurant, hotel or conference center.
• Proficient in computers and have the ability to learn new software programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff, equipment and logistics for events and pre-event planning data entry in EventMaster.
• Ensure everything needed for an event is on hand or ordered in time for success.
• Provide professional, friendly customer service representing the catering team.
• Supervise events and follow up with clients; know menu options and suggest creative setups.
• Plan and run events from small breaks to large plated meals with varying staff.
