Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations, supervise staff, and deliver exceptional customer service in a dynamic college bookstore environment. You will assist in purchasing, scheduling, and directing teams to meet sales goals while maintaining an engaging customer experience.

This role requires 3+ years in retail, 1+ year supervisory experience (or Best Seller program graduate), and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a retail setting.
• 1+ year supervisory experience preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.

Responsibilities

• Support all store operations and departments in partnership with the Store Manager or General Manager.
• Involved in purchasing for one or more departments, directing operational functions, and/or scheduling and team development.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to the academic and co-curricular community while helping the store meet or exceed sales goals.
