Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a General Manager to lead a bookstore or group of campuses with annual volumes over $4m. You will collaborate with campus communities and our corporate Office to optimize store performance, merchandising, and customer experiences across the bookselling environment.

You will recruit, coach, and develop store managers and teams, drive sales, ensure outstanding service, and maintain high standards for safety and loss prevention while aligning with Barnes & Noble

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
• Bachelor's in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
• Leadership experience to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives while achieving customer sales and service goals.
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
