BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE is seeking a General Manager to lead a campus bookstore operation with multi-store oversight and multi-million dollar volumes. You will partner with campus stakeholders to ensure outstanding customer service, merchandising, and financial success.

The role requires strategic leadership, team development, and accountability for store results in a dynamic academic environment. This position is onsite on a university campus and offers growth within a national bookstore network.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred
• Bachelor's in Business Administration or relevant field preferred
• Leadership experience to direct and develop a workforce of managers and sales associates
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills to manage campus relationships and corporate initiatives
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
• Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Oversee a store or group of stores with annual volumes over $6m or an SM report.
• Manage financial results, operations, merchandising, talent acquisition, customer service, and campus relations.
• Develop and coach store managers and team members to deliver excellent customer experiences.
• Collaborate with campus partners and Corporate Office to align strategy and drive profitability.
• Maintain high standards for store appearance, safety, and loss prevention.
