Job summary

Fitchburg State University is seeking an AV Student Technician to join the campus events team. You will assist in setting up, operating, and breaking down AV equipment for on-campus events, ensuring smooth audiovisual experiences for attendees.

This part-time, student-only role offers hands-on training with lighting, sound, and projection systems, plus a friendly work environment and opportunities to develop professional skills while supporting university events.

Qualifications

Flexible schedule with evenings and weekends available.
Previous experience in AV events preferred.
Knowledge of AV equipment, computer systems, and stage lighting.
Familiarity with presentation software and AV interfaces.
Ability to work independently and make decisions.

Responsibilities

Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment for events on campus.
Provide support for basic stage lighting needs, including setup and operation.
Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped.
Greet and assist clients upon arrival at events.
Communicate repairs or requirements for equipment.
Clean and maintain storage closets and AV equipment.
Work efficiently and deliver superior customer service.
Develop effective verbal communication with clients and team members.
