Job summary

New College of Florida is seeking an AV Support Technologist to lead audiovisual support for campus and external events. You will set up equipment, operate live shows, troubleshoot on the fly, and ensure smooth delivery from setup to breakdown.

The role requires handling a range of AV gear, coordinating with event organizers, and maintaining inventory and venues to support daily instruction and special events.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience; certifications may substitute at equivalent rate.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 4 years' experience.
  • Experience with audio visual equipment, classroom technology, computer deployment and imaging systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead during live shows, operating mixing consoles, video switchers, and lighting boards to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Deploy audio, video, and streaming equipment across campus venues and outdoor spaces as needed.
  • Perform routine testing, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on inventory to keep gear in peak condition.
  • Act as a liaison with clients/event organizers, translating visions into concrete technical plans and equipment layouts.
  • Maintain warehouse control: check gear in/out, log damages, manage repairs and track consumables.
