Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington campus is seeking a systems administrator to manage the operation of assigned applications, including setup, maintenance, data security, troubleshooting, documentation, testing and training. You will be the point of contact for IT staff and end users for housing, dining, hotel, event, POS, card and access systems.

Responsibilities include problem resolution, application support, upgrades, and collaboration with vendors and UITS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, business systems, or related field.
• Experience in customer and application support or related field

Responsibilities

• Provides support and technical direction for problem resolution to all end users for all managed systems.
• Maintains intermediate knowledge of the concepts, business practices and procedures of tasks related to managed applications.
• Evaluates problems and suggests technical solutions and supports team decisions
• Interprets information, ideas and instructions and communicates clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing including materials intended for distribution.
• Determines causes of unusual occurrences and applies standard principles to determine and implement solutions; ensures safe practices.
• Responds to emergency situations for door access and dining systems during and after regular business hours.
• Manages the operation of all assigned applications; Supervise data exchange between interconnected applications.
• Develops and revises specifications for new functionality, tests system upgrades and enhancements; works with vendors and UITS to repair system functionality.
