Job summary

Kampgrounds of America, Inc. seeks a Recreation Lead to plan, organize, and lead a wide range of campground activities, from arts and crafts to games and themed weekends. You will create event calendars, supervise preparations, and work with marketing to post content for guests of all ages.

In this role you will hire and train a diverse team, maintain safety standards, and ensure high quality customer service while driving ancillary income through for-pay activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Conversant in English language.

• Strong working knowledge of recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all preparations for events from start to finish.
• Create and execute a detailed events calendar that cohesively supports the campground and guests.
• Create supply lists and procure vendors as needed.
• Take pictures of activities and obtain photo release documentation.
• Prepare social media posts with the marketing department.
• Coordinate, prepare and purchase all food/ beverage items, equipment, awards, and entertainment for each event.
• Maintain and clean recreation equipment and facilities.
• Greet new arrivals to activities and explain rules.
• Explain the rules of activities and instruct participants at various skill levels.
• Enforce safety rules to prevent injury.
• Modify activities to suit group needs.
• Administer basic first aid if needed and notify EMS when necessary.
• Organize and set up equipment used in recreational activities.
• Manage activities schedule to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, and cleanliness.
• Aid AGM with hiring and training a diverse team and updating management on team performance.
